his name is petey pop - i was so impressed with it (the name), that i immediately burst into song (i was a little intoxicated) - He's gone that-a-way He's went this-a-way He's up a tree I think! Oh Petey, Oh Petey... Where are you? Please come back Oh Petey, Oh Petey... You're like a son to us We miss you, We miss you keep in mind, we've only just been introduced and on all accounts, he should be horrified. he doesn't appear to be, so i offer him 10 points if he knows the song. without missing a beat, he says, "of course! that's Happiest Home In These Hills by Al Kasha and Joel Hirschhorn from Disney's live action/animated feature film Pete's Dragon." i stare at him for a couple of seconds, then, "well, yes, but do you know the year of it's release?" ME: do you often get asked if you're any relation to iggy? (snickers) PP: no, no, but mary poppins was once my mistress and i get loads of inquiries about that. (rolls eyes dramatically) ME: (looks him over appreciatively) mad props for scoring with mary poppins, i've always wondered about her alleged "spoonful of sugar". PP: Every time I whispered, "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" into her ear, she would tear my footed pajamas to the floor and have her way with me. Bi-polar psycho. oh yes, darlings, this is going to be fun. much later... PP: could you help me choose a photo for my profile? ME: oh wow, this is tough. i actually like the scruffy one, but probably just because i'm a big fan of smokey treats, and I was just thinking I'd like one. PP: hahaha!!! smokey treats!!! i love 'em too... they're quite delicious. i asked someone once, "If you were starving and out of smokes... and you only had $5 in your pocket... would you buy a sandwich or smokes?" his response was, "Smokes of course... You can EAT your smokes, but you can't smoke your sandwich." oh yeah. |
